The 1st grade team and LMC staff collaborated on a project designed to help students reflect on their human body unit of study and introduce them to 1st grade poetry conventions. Through lessons and activities taught in the LMC and the classroom students gained background knowledge in the five (5) human senses and used that information to create a poem based on their knowledge of the 5 senses. Students used a 5 senses poetry template, created in Google Presentation, to write their poems.

In the LMC students used desktop PCs and Chromebooks to access their Google Drive accounts and locate their Google Presentation poetry template (slide). They then typed in the words or ideas they brainstormed to complete their poem using their 5 Senses Graphic Organizer. Click on teachers names below to access each classrooms poetry gallery and also be sure and click on Standards to understand what learning and technology skill standards students met via this one project.
